Notre Dame - USC Rivalry

Saturday, November 24, 2012 , , 0 Comments

Notre Dame with a win could make it to the BCS Championship game, so there is a lot that is riding on this game for the Fightin’ Irish. They are current up 16-10 against USC.

Notre Dame’s defense is holding up to the USC Trojans. College football doesn't get much better than this Saturday's slate of games; Saturdays are almost never better than this. With a slew of rivalry matchups on the docket, a bunch of highly-rated teams in them, and leftovers in the fridge, Hate Week's final day presents a sheaf of compelling reasons to spend noon to midnight on your couch.

Notre Dame and USC have to be the game of the week. Hoping that you are rooting for the Irish.

Kobe Carries Lakers To Victory

Wednesday, November 21, 2012 , , 0 Comments

Last night was coach D’Antoni’s first game back and his first game as the LA Lakers head coach.D’Antoni needs to get to know his players and know that when Kobe wants to stay in the game that you can’t substitute him out.

Last night Kobe, Metta World Peace, and Pua Gasol played a lot of minutes, but when D’Antoni was asked about the amount of minutes his superstars had he said “they make a lot of money playing, and they are going to have to earn every penny of it.
The Lakers did win last night and that is a good sign for the Lakers and Mike D’Antoni, and the head coach wasn’t even at 100% last night.

Rutgers Joins Big Ten Leaving Big East Behind

Tuesday, November 20, 2012 , , , , 0 Comments

Rutgers Joins Big Ten
Today Rutgers leaves the big east to go to the big ten. The president of Rutgers says that Rutgers belongs in the big ten. Rutgers has been playing in the big east since 1991 but with the realignment of the conference Rutgers has been looking for a way out and the big ten gave them an invitation.

Rutgers has negotiated a deal to leave the big east early, but normally the big east looks for 24 month notice before leaving. The Scarlet Knights have gone to a bowl game 6 times in the last 7 years. So they have grown to be a strong football program.

The Big Ten reportedly paid its members about $24 million last year. The Big East's payout to football members last year was $6 million. We we see what Maryland and Rutgers can do in the big ten.

Maryland Moving To Big Ten For TV Network

Maryland Joins Big Ten

Earlier today it has become obvious why Maryland is moving to the big ten there is more opportunity that comes with a big ten membership, like being part of your own TV network. The big ten has their own network.

The profits are going to be huge for a sub par football team like Maryland, and Rutgers is going to be joining the fun of the big ten here soon. This move for Maryland will end its 59 years in the ACC, also Florida St. has mentioned that they may move to the big 12.

Big Ten Expansion Is It Good Or Bad

Monday, November 19, 2012 , , , 0 Comments

Maryland to Big Ten
Today it was announced that the big ten was going to be expanding and Maryland was accepting their invitation to the big ten. Right along with Rutgers accepting their invite tomorrow.

Now this doesn't make to much sense in football and it seems like with expending to Maryland and Rutgers the big ten is only going to become even worse. I mean I like Maryland but they have a crap of a football team and Rutgers used to be good, they are a has been team.

We all know that the expansion right now is for the big ten to make money because their football teams aren't making much so they probably wanted to expand in to the east coast a little more.

I am a little excited about Maryland joining the big ten because now we will be in with the Oregon crowd with the crazy uniforms which I kind of like how about you?

Is the expansion good or bad for the big ten has a whole?

The Twinkie Might Be Saved

Hostess Twinkie
Hostess might be selling the Twinkie name and the recipe to keep the name going. The brand has made over 2.5 billion a year and have already made 68 million this year so far. That might make other bakeries enticed to bid on the snack giant.

Its sad to see the company have to file for bankruptcy with all the money turmoil they were in with the retirement funds and everything but its good to know that the Twinkie might live on.

Suh Is A Detroit Lions Defensive MVP

Sunday, November 04, 2012 , , 0 Comments

Who is the Detroit Lions defensive MVP’s? Defensive coordinator Gunther Cunningham was asked that question on Friday. He singled out three players that consistently play at high levels. The 3 players are Chris Houston a CB, LB Deandre Levy, and DT Ndamukong Suh.

Suh affects the game in a numbers way, even though he has 3.5 sacks this year Suh has been much for pass rushing.

This year, the Lions rank among the league leaders in tackles for loss against the run and have held backs such as LeSean McCoy and Chris Johnson in check. Suh wants to impact the game when he is out there and thats what he puts on himself. He wants to affect the game when he's out there, and that's what people expect. I see him continuing to do that throughout his career. That's the player he is.

He makes big plays on the defensive side of the ball when it counts most just remember what Suh did against the Eagles to put them in the position to win in overtime. He is truly a game changing player.

You Can Be Smarter By Playing Video Games

Thursday, November 01, 2012 0 Comments

You have to put aside the nerds that play video games in their parents basement with their bathrobes on and their Star Wars action figure collection surrounding them.

It now looks like video games can help with the development of key skills and in fact support brain function.

Video games can teach you how to think critically and solve problems. If you think about it video games always have you thinking of a way to solve a problem or becoming creative with your solutions. Immersive video games can catalyze this fresh thinking in a much more powerful and 3-dimensional way.

They teach you collaboration skills group play is growing at a fast rate right now with web 2.0.  To be successful video game players need to form an alliance and work toward a common ends. This will teach you how to work well with others in real life.

They teach you how to fail, I know that isn’t the best way to come out with it but I know playing video games as a kid I failed a lot but I learned how to problem solve with video games.

Video games have a clear winner and a loser, in the end it helps you gain respect with the person you compete with.

They make us happy, what I mean by that is that we are able to show hard work and master the video game and one day be able to say we have mastered that game. Video games make us stretch our limitations to see how far we can go.

So next time you are playing Star Wars think of the game as brain food.
